Go Godot Jam 2 - Spooky Energy

Originally composed for a project as part of the Go Godot Jam 2.

Unfortunately, a minimum playable prototype wasn't finished in time so it was never submitted for the game jam but I'd already completed a couple of tracks so got those uploaded to not go to waste!

This is the first time that I've composed something that has an intentional spooky/unsettling vibe to it but after a few iterations on the main composition, I think it turned out pretty well. I've always enjoyed and leaned on my usage of negative space and use that to my advantage here, creating some wonder over where things will go next.

Game premise:

"Player is a energy source which will can travel through wires inside the walls the game will take place in night in a house divided into multiple rooms and corridors.

Player would travel through wires to lightbulbs/lamps of different rooms where humans are sleeping ghosts, demons would spawn into rooms to scare/hurt the peoples player would go to that room and light its bulb up to scare away the ghosts.

There will be a timer before the sunrise once that happens the level will be completed."

Composed with love using FamiTracker and utilising the Nintendo MMC5 and FDS expansion chips for some waveform differentiation with pulse bass.

Thanks to the rest of the team for giving things a go anyway!
